BI it's just the concept to collection all data as you have on hand (some data it's in excel format, database in any platform, some are juck data) then we need to collect all data to clean, move, transfer, adapt or any verbs as you need to do to make your all data are quality for serve to your manager or CEO or any concern person as them requested. You can see my image (I have tried to drawing ^_^ look pretty!?)
And we have many tools to create the cube or report for CEO such as targit (In my experience said, YES! easy to create the report but toooooooo slow if you have big data more then 100,000 records to selection)
Any one else? Yes SQL server they have solution but you need to install Analysis Services Database, you have to selected all package in the first time when you have to install server (Click all if your server no have limited for recourse ^_^)
This is very simple to create a report, do not need more creative for design a wonderful report, but if your CEO or manage would like to add some photo, graphic, or color full, I'm not sure that this tool will be your best answer but for quality, I am guarantee.
And an other one as I know now it's IBM, it's name Cognos TM1 Performance, I have seen that the complicated things is, You can not query data and check it very easy as you use database, TM1 keep all data like a point of cube, That the weak point of TM1, You have to find an other technique to check data, For this detail I am still not sure google can help you ^_^ , Happy and Enjoin
